Someone in the close-knit town of Denton is committing unspeakable crimes. Can detective Josie Quinn catch the killer before another victim loses her life?
Since the release of the popular psychological thriller Girl
on the Train by British author Paula Hawkins in 2015, it seems using the term "girl" or
"girls" in the title of a thriller has become almost commonplace. Sometimes
as readers, we learn from bitter experience that such title gimmicks are used
by authors in the genre or their publishers in an attempt to mimic the success
of a previously published novel. Too often such books are nowhere near the quality of an earlier compelling
thriller. Vanishing Girls by Lisa Regan might be the exception.
When Isabelle Coleman, a blonde, beautiful young girl goes
missing, everyone from the small town of Denton joins the search. They can find
no trace of the town’s darling, but Detective Josie Quinn finds another girl
they didn’t even know was missing.
Mute and unresponsive, it’s clear this mysterious girl has
been damaged beyond repair. All Josie can get from her is the name of a third
girl and a flash of a neon tongue piercing that matches Isabelle’s.
The race is on to find Isabelle alive, and Josie fears there
may be other girls in terrible danger. When the trail leads her to a cold case labeled a hoax by authorities, Josie begins to
wonder if there anyone left she can
trust?
With almost 200 reader reviews on Amazon alone, Vanishing Girls has
garnered an average of 4.5 out of 5 stars. If you enjoy psychological thrillers
